I've Got Sole.

After months of sole searching for a good pair to wear at my friend’s wedding, I’ve decided on a pair of the KORS Michael Kors peep toe pump. It was a hard decision considering how much I was set on a pair of Sergio Rossi and fell in love with a pair of Brian Atwood, but in the end I based my decision on a good heel no higher than 5″ and with a solid black heel that wouldn’t stand out in comparison to the other girls shoes.

I purchased the Sadie peep toe pump by KORS Michael Kors from Zappos. The shoe is made out of a gorgeous calf leather with a 4 1/4″ heel. They gave me a good height, without seeming “too tall” and I felt instant comfort. Zappos is a great website to get shoes, handbags, and accesories at a good price. Shipping is free and it’s fast! I ordered my shoes Saturday morning and received them by Monday afternoon. I’ve been obsessively looking at the Alexander McQueen accessories since re-discovering Zappos though and may have to spoil myself again pretty soon!

Now I begin my search for a brand new handbag!

We spend President’s Day weekend in Las Vegas for Kathryn’s bachelorette party. We stayed two nights at the gorgeous Aria Hotel, saw Cirque Du Soleil – Zumanity at New York, New York and dined at STK in the Cosmopolitan. I never carry my camera at night, so here are some various pictures I took during the day!

Sole Searchin'.

For months now I’ve been searching for an amazing pair of peep toe pumps to wear to my friend, Kathryn’s wedding. I’ve had my heart set on a pair of Sergio Rossi mini peep toe pump, but this week I finally made my way to Nordstrom and didn’t fall “in love” with them. My next go to shoes were these pair of Brian Atwood suede and ostrich leather pumps. They are 5″ with a 1 1/2″ platform, so they’re comparable to a 3 1/2″ heel.

 

The ones that I were able to try on were too big, so I’m awaiting the new shipment at Nordstrom to decide if I want them! They felt amazing on, very comfortable and because of the platform, they aren’t super high, which I always say ‘The higher the heel, the better’, but I don’t want to tower the rest of the bridesmaids.

The reason why I didn’t go ahead and order them is because as much as I love these heels and I love Brian Atwood shoes, the gold on the back of the heel looks better in picture than it does in person. The gold metallic heel almost cheapens what is a great pair of Brian Atwood pumps and they are far from that.

 

So my sole searchin’ continues, but very well may end up back here. My go to designer is always Michael Kors and I already saw a black peep toe pump by Michael Kors I might end up with if I come to a dead end.

Kathryn's Bridal Shower.

On Saturday, I hosted Kathryn’s bridal shower at her mom’s house. I drove myself insane planning this and hoping to make this perfect for her guest. I decided on a wine party and in my opinion it turned out pretty well! I waited for this day because I had bought an amazing dress for it, which is the reason for this post!

 

The wine boxes were provided by Katrina and were an amazing touch!! Everyone loved them.

 

I had these wine labels made off of Etsy, at the end of the party each guest took home a bottle of wine to remember the day!

The royal blue dress I wore was the ‘Lola’ found at Reiss, a London based clothing company. The clothes at Reiss are well tailored and sophisticated and just so beautifully made! I have a major girl crush on Kate Middleton. I love everything she wears and when her and Prince William met the President and first lady she wore the amazing ‘cousin’ of the dress I wore. I fell in love with it instantly and so did everyone else because after pictures emerged of her wearing it, the website crashed and the ‘Shola’ dressed became impossible to find. Reiss updated that dress with the Lola and I just had to have it.  Unfortunately, I got the dress 2 days before Kathryn’s shower and did not have enough time to get it altered, so the fit is off. And of course, Katie wore the dress so much better, but I’m so glad to have the similar one in my closet!

Every Girl Should be a Bendel Girl!

I love Henri Bendel. It’s one of my favorite stores to visit on 5th avenue while in New York City. The brown and white stripes of Henri Bendel marked the forefront of fashion in the early 1900s when store founder Henry Willis Bendel, a milliner by trade, decorated New York’s elite in his accessories. When I was in the hunt of a good Christmas gift for my friends, I knew Bendel’s would be the place to find it.
I picked these amazing, yet simple bow studs to give to my friends for Christmas. They are everyday earrings, a nice little pair to dress up your run to the grocery store outfit. I loved these earrings because the backs were just as amazing as the front of the earrings.

If you haven’t made yourself a Bendel girl, you need to NOW. Henri Bendel has great accessories and handbags and everything in the store would make a great gift for your friends! GAGA's Workshop in Barney's

I love Simon Doonan. He’s been the creative ambassador at large for Barney’s for awhile as well as a writer for the Slate. Not to mention he’s married to another favorite of mine, Jonathan Adler! Simon Doonan puts up the best Holiday windows out I have ever seen. Last year’s Holiday Foodie Window (see few posts below) was absolutely amazing and then this year he did not only do the windows, but he transformed the entire 5th floor of Barney’s into Gaga’s Workshop. The workshop sold a lot of goodies Lady GaGa related from Alexander McQueen heels cookies (I LOVED THIS, but was $78!) to jewelry, clothes, makeup and stuffed monsters. 25% of the proceeds went to the Lady GaGa’s Born This Way Foundation.
